Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Tiryani police organised a mega health camp for the convenience of the residents belonging to around several hamlets under remote Mangi village in Tiryani on Monday. Superintendent of Police (Administration) YVS Sudheendra was the chief guest of the event.
Sudheendra said that the police department was conducting a slew of service activities for the ethnic tribes. He advised the tribals to go for medical services available locally in place of following superstitious medicine system. He said that holders of Arogya Sri could avail medical services in corporate hospitals for free. He requested the tribals not to grow prohibited marijuana trees.
The superintendent of police announced that TSRTC bus service would be introduced to Mangi village in a week. He said a natural leaf plate manufacturing unit would be set up in Mangi soon for empowerment of women. He recalled that similar initiatives were taken up in Gundala and Danthanpalli villages in the past. He recounted the distribution of spectacles to 40 tribals and surgeries performed on 30 participants who attended a medical camp to correcting their eye sight.
He appreciated Tiryani Sub-Inspector P Rama Rao for taking steps to repair the stretch. He appreciated doctors and their supporting staff of Sri Mitra Hospital belonging to Mancherial town for coming forward to extend medical services. Drugs were given to participants for free.
The police later distributed blankets to around 200 tribals as part of community policing. Asifabad DSP Srinivas, Rebbena Inspector Satheesh, Tiryani Sub-Inspector Rama Rao, Mangi deputy Sarpanch Bojjirao, heads of tribal hamlets and many others were present.
