Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Police organised a mega Covid-19 vaccination programme at Sultan-ul-Uloom college in Banjara Hills on Tuesday. The programme was aimed at administering vaccine for beggars, footpath dwellers and other groups, for whom prior registration was done by the police.
Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali inaugurated the programme, wherein around 5,000 persons were administered the vaccine. The Minister said the Police Department was involving itself fully in the battle against Covid not only by ensuring enforcement of lockdown but also by conducting vaccination programmes.
City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said the City Police officials were reaching out to many communities during the pandemic, as part of which they had identified the poor living on the streets and organised the vaccination programme for them.
