Hyderabad: The ‘Bridesmaids’ actor Melissa McCarthy was the guest on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Monday (September 27), where she opened up about the parenting strategy she uses with her two daughters, Vivian, 13, and Georgette, 10.
Melissa began by sharing that Georgette is a big fan of anime, explaining that her daughter will wear yellow face paint like a cartoon hero. “I think they’re always waiting for me to be like, ‘Wait a minute!’” the comedian said, “But instead it’s like, ‘Yeah, you want a neck tat’(sic)?”
She also uses the reverse psychology in other situations like Georgette telling her mom that she had dyed her hair blue, as reported on ‘Just Jared’.
“She wanted me to be like, ‘This is outrageous!’,” Melissa said. “I’m like, ‘Great! We can shave half of it off’.” She added, “That’s my theory. If I just keep being like, ‘Do more’, they’ll get so bored with it. Now that I’m announcing my reverse psychology, I just screwed myself.”
Melissa recently shared a never-before-heard story about the making of ‘Bridesmaids’. While appearing on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, she said while shooting for the 2011 movie, she had just encountered a face-changing app. She added that she’s always “three to four years late” when it comes to technology.
