Medak: The Mercedes Benz car, in which the Congress leader Marelli Anil was driving at the time of the murderous attack on him, emerged as key evidence in cracking his murder case.
The car was registered in the name of one Venkata Srinivas Sagar Ravada, who is reportedly a well-known businessman in Hyderabad. Sagar, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, was in the construction and real estate business in the Telangana State capital.
The Mercedes-Benz car was bearing the registration number of TS08FD1122. A Rs 100 challan was pending against the car under the Punjagutta police station limits. The police imposed a fine for parking the car on the service road in violation of traffic rules on April 17 this year.

Meanwhile, the police also found a phone number written on Anil’s palm. The police were trying to find out the owner of the phone number. The probe was on.
