Karimnagar: Mild tension prevailed at BJP State president and local MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s camp office here when the police tried to vacate BJP activists gathered there to attend his proposed Jagarana Diksha.

BJP workers entered into an argument with the police for forcing them to vacate the spot on the pretext of Covid protocol.

Sanjay Kumar decided to observe Jagarana Diksha from 7.30 pm on Sunday to 5 am on Monday demanding the State government to make changes to GO 317 and do justice to teachers and employees.

Police anticipating a large number of people including teachers, employees and party workers gathering at his residence, issued notices asking the MP to cancel his diksha in the wake of rise in Covid cases.

Since Sanjay decided to continue with the diksha, police forces were deployed at the MP’s camp office and they removed the party workers gathered at the spot.

Enraged by the police move, BJP activists entered into an argument with the cops. They found fault with police for objecting to BJP diksha on the pretext of Covid protocol which was not taken into consideration during Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao’s huge rally.
