Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar felicitated an NCC cadet Ch Umamaheshwari who took part in the Republic Day parade at Rajpath in New Delhi on Jan 26.
She is studying B Sc. final year at RJC Degree and PG College here. The student along with the college Chairman Gundala Krishna called on the minister after returning from New Delhi, said a statement from the college here on Saturday.
Ajay Kumar interacted with the student and learnt about her experiences at the Republic Day parade in Delhi. He appreciated Umamaheshwari for upholding Khammam district’s reputation at the national level.
The minister said great discipline and training were required to achieve such success and wished her to maintain the same spirit in future and reach great heights in her career. The Minister also lauded the college Chairman Krishna and the faculty for training students for such activities along with education.
Krishna informed that Umamaheshwari emerged as the best cadet at the combined annual training camp held in Warangal a few months ago. She also excelled in the pre-Republic Day parade held in Secunderabad recently to secure a place in the final list.
RJC College Principal Zafar Khan, Vice Principal Alavala Lingaiah, NCC Officer Lieutenant N Sampath, several Army and NCC officers were present.
