Minister, top officials visit Bhoiguda fire mishap site

Srinivas Yadav expressed condolences to the bereaved families and assured all help possible.

Hyderabad: Minister of Cinematography, T Srinivas Yadav, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand visited the spot where 11 persons died in a fire mishap at a scrap godown in New Bhoiguda in Secunderabad.

Srinivas Yadav expressed condolences to the bereaved families and assured all help possible.

The Police Commissioner said they have initiated probe into the incident and preliminary investigation indicate a short circuit from the switch board.

Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, who visited the fire accident spot at Bhoiguda, said the State government was initiating all measures to prevent such ghastly incidents in the future.

The Chief Secretary said that the State government announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh each to the families of the victims. Later Somesh Kumar went to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary and met the hospital officials. He directed them to conduct postmortem and later make arrangements to transport the bodies to the native place of the victims. He told the hospital authorities to provide best treatment to the person who escaped with injuries from mishap site.
