Hyderabad: Amidst rumours of a cabinet reshuffle doing the rounds in Gandhi Bhavan, a few Ministers met the AICC Telangana incharge Meenakshi Natarajan here on Sunday. Interestingly, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy later held a meeting with the Ministers in the evening.
These parallel meetings have triggered speculations in the party’s rank and file. Even as the aspirants’ anticipations over the high command approving cabinet expansion anytime soon are increasing, others are keeping their fingers crossed.
Forest Minister Konda Surekha, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (PRRD) Minister D Anasuya, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao are learnt to have met the AICC incharge independently at the Old MLA quarters. The meeting with a couple of the Ministers lasted for nearly 30 minutes while it ended in just 10 minutes with the remaining two.
During the one-on-one meeting with the Ministers, the AICC incharge is said to have enquired about different aspects, including party affairs, party sources said.
It may be recalled that in October last, six Congress MLAs from erstwhile Warangal had lodged a complaint with the State leadership against the Forest Minister about her “interference” and “misconduct”.
However, party leaders tried to make light of the Ministers meeting the AICC incharge. They stated that the meetings were regular interactions and there was nothing significant about them.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister held a meeting with Ministers at the Integrated Command Control Centre to discuss multiple issues, including Bhu Bharathi, Indiramma Indlu, monsoon preparations, etc.
At the meeting, which lasted for nearly 90 minutes, it was decided to convene a cabinet meeting on June 5 for taking a few decisions and discussing key issues.
