Minor girl allegedly sexually assaulted in Hyderabad’s Sanathnagar; man taken into custody

A man identified as Mohd Shabaz was taken into custody after a minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in Hyderabad's Sanathnagar. Police registered a case under the POCSO Act following a complaint by the victim's mother and launched an investigation.

Hyderabad: A minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man identified as Mohd Shabaz in Sanathnagar.

According to the complaint, the suspect followed the girl when she was on her way to school on Wednesday morning and later forced her to ride on his bike.

Police said the suspect then took the victim to a park in Sanathnagar, where the assault allegedly took place. The incident came to light after the girl’s mother lodged a complaint with the police on Thursday.
Following the complaint, Sanathnagar police registered a case under the POCSO Act and took the Shabaz into custody.
Police are investigating to establish the sequence of events and collect further evidence.
