Hyderabad: The mother of the minor girl in the POCSO case involving Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay’s son, Bandi Bageerath, issued a public statement seeking a fair probe here on Friday.
In the statement, she alleged emotional abuse, coercion, and intimidation connected to the suspect, Bageerath, in the case registered at Pet-Basheerabad police station. She appealed for an impartial investigation and protection of the child’s identity.
In the statement, the family alleged that the minor was subjected to emotional manipulation and inappropriate physical conduct in 2025.
The mother requested the authorities to preserve electronic records, CCTV footage, and police documentation for forensic examination.
The family also claimed they faced pressure and counter-allegations after approaching the police in May 2026, including a separate extortion case registered against them in Karimnagar.
The mother further alleged that influential persons attempted to mediate and intimidate the family when they sought legal action.
The statement urged the judiciary, investigating agencies, and child rights institutions to ensure an independent probe under the POCSO Act, while appealing to the media and the public not to disclose any information that could reveal the identity of the minor victim.
