Kothagudem/Mulugu: Two girl students of Class 7 who went missing on Sunday night from the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule BC Gurukul at Jyotinagar, Old Paloncha, were found at Mulugu on Monday.
After the girls, Sanjana and Bhavagna, went missing, their parents and local TDP leaders staged a protest at the hostel alleging negligence on the part of the hostel staff. Gurukuls regional coordinating officer Rambabu told the media that higher officials were informed about the incident and a complaint was lodged at the Paloncha police station.
According to sources, Sanjana’s father Peddiraju lives in Mulugu while her mother Bhavani lives in Kothagudem due to family disputes. Sanjana, who did not want to continue studying at Paloncha, wanted to go to her father and asked Bhavagna to accompany her to Mulugu.
When Bhavani called Peddiraju on Monday evening, he told her that their daughter had reached Mulugu and was with him. Bhavagna’s parents went to Mulugu to bring her back to Paloncha. The incident, parents complained, has once again highlighted the negligence of hostel staff in monitoring students’ movements.
