Adilabad: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy and leaders of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) began concerted efforts to ensure the victory of the party’s candidate, Dande Vittal, in polls to Adilabad Local Authorities Constituency (LAC) seat. The election is slated for December 10, while counting of the votes will be held on December 14.
Indrakaran, who is camping in Adilabad district headquarters along leaders of the party, is leaving no stone unturned for Vittal’s triumph in the elections. They are reportedly holding consultations with Independent candidates who filed nominations for contesting in the polls. It is learned that they are persuading some of the candidates to withdraw their candidatures. The last date for withdrawing nominations is November 26.
The leaders are planning to organise ‘camps’ in Hyderabad and other cities till the elections to make sure that the official nominee wins. Observers, however, say that there is no chance of unanimous election of the candidate and polls are inevitable with many interested to remain in the fray.
Meanwhile, legislators of the TRS are striving hard to help the nominee register victory in the polls. They are conducting meetings in headquarters of their respective segments with ZPTC, MPTC members, councilors and ex-officio members of the party. They are explaining the need to make the candidate win in the polls.
In a related development, Observer of the Polls to Local Authorities Constituencies Navin Mittal arrived at Adilabad and inspected scrutiny of nominations filed by candidates to Adilabad LAC seat on Wednesday. Candidature of 23 nominees was approved, according to returning officer Sikta Patnaik. Jeka Shekar, a nominee of Edulabandam village in Kotapalli mandal withdrew his nomination
