Medak: Finance Minister T Harish Rao said Medak Local Authorities Constituency election would be a cakewalk for TRS party candidate.

Speaking to news reporters in Medak after TRS candidate Dr Yadava Reddy filed his nomination on Tuesday, the Finance Minister said TRS had 777 votes while the Congress, BJP and other parties together had just 250 votes.

Since the Election Commission of India (ECI) has also given votes to MLAs, MLCs and MPs in the current elections for the first time, Harish Rao said that the decision would favour them as they had more MLAs, MLCs and MPs in erstwhile Medak district.

Terming the Congress party filing nomination “immoral” in the absence of adequate votes, he said that the outcome of the election result on December 10 would teach them a lesson. “The TRS in Medak district is waiting for the election process to end as the party’s victory is inevitable,” he said.

From Medak constituency, seven candidates have filed 16 nominations so far. TRS candidate Dr Yadava Reddy filed as many as three nominations.

T Nirmala, wife of Sangareddy MLA and Congress leader T Jagga Reddy, filed two sets of nominations on Tuesday, the last date for filing nominations.
