MLRIT students win second, third prizes at Capgemini hackathon

MLRIT students secured second and third prizes at the Capgemini Tech 4 Positive Hackathon – Youth Voices Edition 2026. Three institute teams reached the final round, while the second-prize-winning team will represent Hyderabad at the competition’s next level

Hyderabad: Students of the CSE (AIML) Department of MLR Institute of Technology (MLRIT) have brought laurels to the institution by securing the second and third prizes at the Capgemini Tech 4 Positive Hackathon – Youth Voices Edition 2026.

The hackathon, themed “Empowering Youth and Building Sustainable and Inclusive Futures,” provided students with an opportunity to develop innovative, technology-driven solutions addressing real-world challenges. A total of 15 teams from five colleges participated in the competition. Three teams from MLRIT reached the final round, with two MLRIT teams emerging as prize winners, securing the second and third positions.


The second-prize-winning team from MLRIT will represent Hyderabad at the next level of the competition and compete against teams representing other cities, including Pune and Chennai.

MLRIT Founder Secretary and Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajashekar Reddy congratulated the students and faculty mentors on their achievement in the AI-based hackathon. He appreciated the students for their creativity, technical skills and innovative approach and encouraged them to continue participating in prestigious national-level technology competitions.

MLRIT Secretary Anushreya Reddy, Director Dr V Radhika Devi and Principal Dr SVS Prasad also congratulated the students and faculty mentors.
