MMC proposes widening Uppal Stadium Road to 120 ft

Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation has proposed widening Uppal Stadium Road to 120 ft to ease congestion. Officials identified about 0.78 acres of Survey of India land for the project and were directed to examine compensation and expedite the widening work.

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) has proposed widening the congested Uppal Stadium Road to 120 ft to improve traffic flow and reduce delays on the stretch leading to the stadium.

MMC Commissioner and officials from the Survey of India and the corporation’s engineering and town planning departments conducted a joint inspection on Monday. They identified about 0.78 acres of Survey of India land for the project, including areas occupied by existing compound walls and sheds belonging to Kendriya Vidyalaya.

The Commissioner directed officials to examine compensation for land acquisition under applicable regulations and initiate further action. He also asked the Chief City Planner to remove temporary barricading sheets at the NSL buildings that were obstructing the widening work.

The departments concerned were directed to coordinate and expedite land acquisition, compensation and road-widening work. The Commissioner said completing the project would improve traffic management and facilitate smoother vehicular movement in the area.
