MNR University observes anti-ragging day with strict compliance to UGC guidelines
In compliance with UGC directives, MNR University has implemented strict measures to curb ragging, observing Anti-Ragging Day followed by Anti-Ragging Week from August 12 to 18.

Sangareddy: As per the UGC directives and advisories on mandatory regulations to curb the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions, MNR University has taken several necessary steps for full implementation.
As per the provisions in the above regulations and to ensure strict compliance through a monitoring mechanism, including awareness activities for preventing ragging MNR University observed Anti-Ragging Day on Tuesday, followed by Anti-Ragging Week from August 12 to 18.
Dr M Christopher, Registrar of the University presided over the function. Dr.T.V.Satyanarayana, Advisor, MNR University, gave a brief account of how UGC gradually came up with the regulations to be followed in Higher Educational Institutions and State Acts of 1997 and 2016.
Dr.J.S.Ravikumar, Director (Academics) emphasised the zero tolerance stand of the University and MNR-ET on ragging. Prof.A.Sivasankar, Dean of Students Welfare explained in detail-what constitutes ragging and the punishments thereof as per UGC.
The Anti-Ragging measures taken and details of various committees constituted by the institute on curbing the menace were discussed.The students were encouraged to participate in various literary competitions in the Anti-Ragging Week including the National Contest held by UGC.
