Moderate to heavy rains lash Telangana, sharp dip in temperatures
Moderate to heavy rains across Telangana brought a sharp fall in temperatures, with Hyderabad witnessing cooler weather. Several districts recorded heavy rainfall, including Jagtial, Sangareddy and Rangareddy. IMD forecast maximum temperatures in Hyderabad between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius on Monday
Hyderabad: Moderate to heavy rains lashed Telangana over the last 24 hours, causing a sharp drop in maximum temperatures across the State. While Hyderabad recorded moderate downpour, several areas in districts recorded heavy rainfall.
Due to overcast and wet conditions, day temperatures have dropped significantly in Hyderabad. According to IMD, Hyderabad, maximum day time temperatures on Monday will range between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius, which is quite a drop, considering the fact that just a few days ago, the maximum temperatures in Hyderabad hovered around 33 degrees Celsius.
In Greater Hyderabad, Kistareddypet in Ameenpur recorded a maximum of 45.3 mm rainfall while in districts, Metpalle in Jagtial recorded the highest rainfall of 77.8 mm, followed by Sangareddy collectorate office area that recorded 71.8 mm and Shankerpalle in Rangareddy district recorded 70.8 mm of rainfall.
In Medchal-Malkajgiri, Cyberabad and Hyderabad, , Ramachandrapuram, BHEL recorded 44.8 mm, Hayathnagar (38mm), Patancheru tahsil office (37.8 mm) while MMTS Lingampally station area received 36.8 mm of rainfall.
