Yadadri-Bhongir: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has turned into a curse for Telangana State as his government was discriminating against it.
Speaking at a meeting of the party leaders held at Bhongir to discuss the arrangements of public meeting to be attended by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao scheduled on February 12 at Bhongir, he said that prolonged agitation of the Telangana people has liberated their area from the clutches of Andhra colonial rulers.
He said that Narendra Modi made objectionable remarks on Telangana and strongly criticised Narendra Modi for saying that formation of Telangana State was done in an improper way. He questioned on what was the need for the Prime Minister to talk about the formation of Telangana State during debate on union budget in the Lok Sabha. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had mustered support of 36 political parties for Telangana.
Modi should keep in mind that his party leaders L K Advani, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj were present in the Parliament when A P Reorganisation Bill was passed by the house.
Stating that the welfare schemes of the TRS government were irking the BJP leaders, he said that it has created panic in the BJP with an apprehension that it would impact their political interests across the country. He pointed out that Rs 50,000 crore has been extended to farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme so far. In addition to this, financial assistance was extended to 10 lakh beneficiaries under Kalyana Lakshmi scheme, he added. He said that demand for similar scheme from other states was also increasing day by day. Unable to take up such schemes, Narendra Modi was targeting Telangana state and its Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he added.
He exuded confidence that Chandrashekhar Rao would continue as Chief Minister of Telangana for the next 20 years.
