Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unable to stomach the development taking place in Telangana since 2014, was hatching a conspiracy to reunite the two Telugu states.

“The Prime Minister’s statement in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday on bifurcation is a clear indication of his intentions,” the Minister said, addressing the party workers who participated in protest demonstration held at Telangana chowk in protest against Modi’s comments on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Minister along with Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao, TRS district president and SUDA chairman GV Ramakrishna Rao participated in a huge bike rally from Markfed grounds to Telangana chowk, where Modi’s effigy was burnt.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar said though Telangana was a new State, it was forging ahead on all fronts, leaving behind Gujarat, the native state of Modi. Unable to digest this, Modi is conspiring to reunite the Telugu states, he said.

The people of Telangana will not allow such devious designs as Statehood was achieved a long struggle and sacrifice of hundreds of youth. BJP MPs, MLAs, and workers should question the Prime Minister on his remarks and resign from their posts if they are true Telanganites.

The Minister promised to get the BJP leaders re-elected with a thumping majority if they seek reelection after resigning from their posts. “Otherwise, they will be treated as betrayers of Telangana,” he said.

Through his statement, PM hurt the sentiments of Telangana people and ridiculed Telangana agitation, he opined and demanded Modi to withdraw his statements and seek unconditional apology to the people.

The PM’s statement that Telangana was formed without consultations was an absolute humiliation to the state. In 2016, the union government led by Modi banned high denomination currency notes. Poor and middle class people faced severe hardships due to demonetization. To whom the central government had consulted before taking the demonetization decision, he questioned.

Telangana people would not tolerate the people if anybody tries to humiliate Telangana sentiment, he said and informed that people were ready to wage another agitation.
