Hyderabad: The teaser of L2: Empuraan, the much-awaited sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, was released on Sunday.

The teaser opens with a voiceover by Tovino Thomas, shown from the back, talking to a woman (Manju Warrier) also from behind. The dialogue, “If there comes a day when you feel that everything around you is falling apart and if I am not alive then, there will be only one person you can turn to for help. Stephen,” sets a suspenseful tone.
The scene transitions into another powerful line: “The battle is not between good and evil, it’s between evil and evil,” underlining the dark themes of the film.
Stephen Nedumpally, the mysterious and powerful character played by Mohanlal, takes centre stage as his presence is built up throughout the teaser. A description follows, calling him Mahiravana for Hindus, Iblees in Islam and Lucifer for Christians.
Mohanlal’s return as Khureshi Ab’ram is introduced with a stylish entry, showing him surrounded by bodyguards and ending with the line, “This deal is with the devil.”
The teaser plot ends with a glimpse of Prithviraj Sukumaran and his dialogue, “One word from you, Bhaijaan, that’s all I need. I will be waiting.”
The teaser also hints at a gripping storyline involving a global mercenary group, cartel connections and an intense battle between powerful forces.
L2E features Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Sachin Khedekar, Saniya Iyappan, among others.
Produced by Subaskaran and Anthony Perumbavoor under Lyca Productions and Aashirvad Cinemas, L2: Empuraan is set to release on March 27, 2025, in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.
The teaser builds excitement without revealing much, promising a thrilling sequel to the highest-grosser in Malayalam cinema Lucifer.
Prithviraj Sukumaran also confirmed the third part of the Lucifer franchise during the teaser launch event held in Kochi, Kerala.
