Jagtial: In a tragic incident, a 50-year-old woman died after she fell off the second floor of a building following the sudden appearance of a monkey frightened her in Dharmapuri on Friday.

According to police, Narambatla Rajyalaxmi, a native of Brahmmanavada, Dhamapuri, was living in Hyderabad where her two daughters are software engineers. She was also working as a teacher in a private school in the capital. Her husband died a few years ago.

Two days ago, she came to her native place to spend Sankranti holidays. On Friday, she went to see the new house being constructed by her brother in Dharmapuri. When she went to the second floor, the sudden appearance of a monkey frightened her. The scared woman tried to run down the stairs, and in the proces, fell from the second floor and died on the spot.

On coming to know about the incident, police visited the spot and began investigations. The body was shifted to Jagtial hospital for postmortem.
