Monsoon drenches Hyderabad, six zones receive up to 52 mm of rainfall

Hyderabad: A cold, wet, overcast and cloudy Thursday morning has set the stage for a probable heavy rainy day across areas under the Greater Hyderabad area. Between Wednesday night and Thursday early hours, heavy rainfall has been recorded across several locations in Hyderabad.
The rainfall data from Telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS) has indicated that the highest rainfall, between 8.30 am on Wednesday and 8.30 am on Thursday, measured in Rajendranagar, was 52.3 mm.
The impact of the rains have been widespread, with numerous areas reporting substantial downpours. Following Rajendranagar, other areas experienced heavy showers, including Bahadurpura, which recorded 51.5 mm, and Charminar, which measured 42.5 mm. The weather monitoring stations of TSDPS in Serilingampally, Golkonda, and Asifnagar also reported rainfall ranging from 39.0 mm to 46.8 mm.
Majority of the regions under all the six zones of Hyderabad including L B Nagar, Serilingampally, Charminar, Secunderabad, Khairatabad and Kukatpally zones received anywhere from 25 mm to 52 mm of rainfall, the rainfall data from TSDPS indicated.
