We bring to your kind notice that in Telangana State, most of the UPHCs, PHCs and Basthi Dawakhanas do not have adequate number of ASHA workers.
Warangal Urban: Former chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, erstwhile Warangal, Mandala Parashuramulu has urged the State government to recruit more ANMs in the State since it would help in checking the spread of novel Coronavirus in the State.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Parashuramulu said: “We bring to your kind notice that in Telangana State, most of the UPHCs, PHCs and Basthi Dawakhanas do not have adequate number of ASHA workers. As per the NUHM guidelines, there should be one ASHA worker for every 2,000 people.”
“Due to scarcity of ASHA workers, health services will be delayed in this pandemic situation and all the ASHA workers are doing an excellent job whatever the work is allotted by the medical officers of the PHCs. As per your orders, all the ASHA workers are doing door to door fever survey and handing over COVID kits to the patients. Hence, I request your good authority to recruit more ASHA workers wherever required,” he added.
