Hyderabad: IT Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan on Thursday said there will be more jobs on offer in the days to come in Hyderabad across mega, mid-scale and small scale IT companies in the city as there was lot of demand for digitisation and digital services, especially following post Covid impact.
There are about 1,400 IT companies in Hyderabad. At present, about 30,000 to 40,000 jobs are offered every year across all categories in the city. In the days to come, this will increase to 75,000 to 80,000 job opportunities, he said, adding this would in turn trigger more demand for office space.
Addressing CREDAI Telangana’s first conclave here, he said post Covid, across all sectors, the demand for digitization and digital services had increased drastically. Since digitisation and digital services are extended by IT companies, this would result in increased staffing, he explained. “There is a prominent company which currently employs about 20,000 persons. It is planning to double its workforce to 40,000,” Jayesh Ranjan said.
Though many companies are continuing work-from-home (WFH), some have found this was affecting the productivity of their employees. Accordingly, they are planning to make at least four day office work mandatory for their employees. This will further increase demand for office space, he said.
Another striking aspect is that many mid and small scale companies are working on savings and cutting down their operational costs, after covid pandemic. Generally, rentals are high in Cyberabad limits, considering this factor, many such companies may opt for B and C quality commercial space in a bid to cut down rental expenditure, he explained.
Jayesh Ranjan earlier released Anarock, a leading independent real estate services company’s report – Telangana – A State on the Move. Prashant Thakur of Anarock said Telangana was setting benchmark for others in infrastructure development.
“This apart, stable governance and effective law and order situation was aiding steady real estate growth in Telangana. Compared to north India, not many projects get delayed here or get held up midway. That speaks volume about the discipline and commitment of real estate sector here,” he said.
MAUD Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar said that since April this year, nearly 60,000 applications had been approved under TS-bPASS. Further, Rs one lakh crore worth investment have been approved under RERA, he said.
After agriculture sector, real estate sector is the second largest contributor to employment generation but this fact often goes unnoticed, he said. He wanted CREDAI members to create awareness among buyers on the need to buy only RERA approved projects as this would be safe for them.
