Nagarkurnool: A mother and her two children attempted suicide by consuming pesticide at Kalwakurthy on Thursday. While the woman and one of her children died while undergoing treatment, the condition of the other child was reported to be critical.

Prakash, a native of Pebbair, had shifted to Kalwakurthy and was working as a salesman in a shop. He died of cardiac arrest in November last year. Following his death, his wife Prasanna (40) and their two children continued to stay in Kalwakurthy.

Unable to cope with the loss of Prakash, Prasanna and her children allegedly consumed pesticide along with their meals. When there was no response from the house, local residents grew suspicious and rushed the trio to the Government Hospital.

The 13-year-old girl died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. As Prasanna’s condition worsened, her family members attempted to shift her to Hyderabad for better treatment, but she died on the way. The condition of her son remained critical.
