Hyderabad: A woman and her daughter were killed, while her husband is fighting for his life in a hospital, after their motorcycle was hit by a truck on the city outskirts on Wednesday.
Tragedy struck the family when the rashly driven truck hit the motorcycle, which the trio was riding, at Tukkuguda in Pahadishareef.
Ch Gopal (36), his wife Lakshmamma (33) and their daughter Vijaya (14), a Class VIII student, all from Wanaparthy, were going to the Osmania General Hospital on a bike for Vijaya’s treatment.
According to the police, when the trio reached Tukkuguda road near the Outer Ring Road (ORR), a rashly driven truck hit the motorcycle. As a result, the family fell on the road and suffered grievous bleeding injuries.
While Lakshmamma and Vijaya died on the spot, Gopal who was injured in the mishap was shifted to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
The Pahadishareef police have booked a case and are investigating. Efforts are on to nab the absconding truck driver.
The bodies were shifted to the Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
