Motorist held for assaulting traffic constable at Kothapet Junction
A motorist allegedly attacked a traffic constable at Kothapet junction in Saroornagar after being fined for riding without a helmet. He damaged a police tab and was caught by locals before being handed over to police, who arrested and remanded him.
Hyderabad: A traffic constable on duty was allegedly assaulted by a motorist at Kothapet junction in Saroornagar. The incident, which occurred recently, came to light late.
According to police, the motorist identified as Bharath, allegedly grew angry after a challan was issued for riding without a helmet.
About 15 minutes later, he reportedly returned to the spot, attacked traffic constable Apparao, and damaged the police tab being used for enforcement.
Local residents caught the motorist and handed him over to the police. The Saroornagar Police registered a case and he was remanded in judicial custody.
