Kothagudem: Rajya Sabha member Vaddiraju Ravichandra strongly condemned the attack carried out by Congress goons on the MLA camp office of former Chief Minister, leader of the opposition K Chandrashekhar Rao at Gajwel constituency headquarters.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, he asserted that an MLA’s camp office constitutes government property; therefore, attacking and vandalising it, thereby creating chaos, amounts to causing damage to public assets.
Ravichandra remarked that leaders of the ruling party were encouraging such reckless acts in an attempt to divert public attention, having failed to fulfill their electoral promises. He questioned the safety of the common people if such acts of violence can be perpetrated in broad daylight with hundreds of onlookers present against the camp office of a former Chief Minister.
Ravichandra described the attack as deplorable and said the police remained mere spectators during the incident. He demanded that DGP B Shivadhar Reddy immediately identify and arrest the miscreants responsible for the attack, ensuring they face strict punishment.
