Nirmal: A Mandal Panchayat Officer (MPO) was arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs 2.25 lakh from a real estate developer here on Tuesday.
In-charge ACB DSP Madusudhan said the accused was Srinivas Reddy, MPO and in-charge Mandal Parishad Development Officer of Nirmal Rural mandal.
Srinivas Reddy was caught on a dragnet laid by the sleuths of ACB when he was receiving funds from the realtor. He was harassing the latter seeking a bribe of Rs 2.70 lakh for approval of Panchayati Raj department for a building layout. The realtor approached the sleuths who in turn trapped the public servant.
