MSN Laboratories backs Sarvodaya Foundation to set up 25 libraries in Telangana schools

Hyderabad-based MSN Laboratories will fund Sarvodaya Grama Seva Foundation to set up 25 libraries and study centres in backward districts of Telangana. The initiative aims to cultivate reading habits and provide upskilling opportunities for government school students.

Sangareddy: Sarvodaya Grama Seva Foundation (SGSF), which has been carrying on a movement to set up libraries in government schools across the State, has found a major supporter in Hyderabad based pharmaceutical company MSN Laboratories Limited,

As part of its corporate social responsibility, the MSN Labs decided to fund Sarvodaya to establish libraries,and study centres in backward areas of Sangareddy, Medak, Adiladbad, Mahabubnagar and Vikarabad districts over a period of next one year.


Inspired by Gandhian philosophy and Sarvodaya movement led by Gandhi, a group of doctors, who completed their studies from the prestigious Osmania Medical College, joined hands to set up SGSF in 2019. Since then, the team of doctors have established some 30 libraries with the support of donors and the funds mobilised among themselves across the state.

President of SGSF, Dr Ajesh Raj Saxena, a well-known oncologist, founder member of SGSF Dr P Sudhakar Nayak, and other members met MSN founder chairman Dr Manne Satyanarayana Reddy, seeking his support for their cause. Inspired by the work of Sarvodaya, Dr Reddy appreciated the team and assured to extend all support to establish 25 libraries. He said that the MSN will certainly support such initiatives in the future as well.

Each of these libraries will be set with an outlay of Rs 2 to Rs 2.5 lakhs. Speaking to Telangana Today, Dr Ajesh Raj Saxena said that their primary aim of their initiative was to inculcate reading habit among the young minds which would take them a long way in their career. Dr Saxena said that they will also organise upskilling activities for students in libraries by roping in experts in the fields. Sarvodaya also established a number of sports academies in government schools Sangareddy district.
