Hyderabad: As part of the preparations for Muharram 2025, former BJP state spokesperson Mir Firasath Ali Baqri met with Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand to ensure peaceful, safe, and respectful conduct of religious processions and observances across the city.
Baqarī’s meeting aligns with the initiative of Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, who formally submitted a representation letters to the Commissioner of Police and all Zonal DCPs in Hyderabad, requesting special attention to Muharram-related arrangements.
Baqri requested the deployment of Task Force personnel, SHE Teams, and Special Branch units along key procession routes and sensitive locations. He emphasised the need for effective crowd management, uninterrupted processions, and round-the-clock surveillance using CCTV cameras, especially during the 68-day observance period in Hyderabad.
Commissioner Anand assured all necessary steps will be taken for the smooth conduct of Muharram programs and that police teams will work in close coordination with community leaders and volunteers.
