Karimnagar: IAS officer and Karimnagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Praful Desai set an example by admitting his wife to a government hospital for her delivery.

The Commissioner admitted his pregnant wife to the Mother and Child Health Centre, Karimnagar, on Sunday after doctors found that her amniotic fluid levels had declined.

On Monday, experienced gynaecologists, specialist doctors and nursing staff successfully conducted the delivery, and she gave birth to a baby girl. Both the mother and the newborn are in good health.

The medical team included Gynaecology HOD Dr Padmaja, gynaecologists Deepa, Dr Sanjeeta and Dr Suhasini, child specialists Dr Venu and Dr Mallikarjun, Anaesthesia HOD Dr Shanthan and Dr Sangeetha, and Nursing Superintendent Saritha along with Padmasree and Rama.

Collector Pamela Satpathy, hospital Superintendent Dr Veera Reddy, RMO Naveena and others appreciated the Commissioner and his wife for choosing a government hospital for the delivery.
