Political parties are intensifying efforts to capture the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation, with leader poaching and frequent desertions adding drama after the municipal poll process began. Several local leaders have switched parties as surveys are used to identify winnable candidates

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has appealed to Karimnagar residents to elect BJP candidates in the upcoming municipal polls, stressing that Central funds would continue to flow only if the mayor’s seat is handed to the party.
