Khammam: Leaders of different trade unions have demanded that the Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) authorities pay increased wages to municipal workers as per the 11th PRC. The leaders of CITU, AITUC, IFTU and INTUC have submitted memorandums to the District Collector and Municipal Commissioner here on Monday. Speaking to the media Manda Venkateshwarlu of AITUC complained that the State government responding to the appeals of the workers issued GO No: 4 to pay them wages as per the 11th PRC.

Even as the GO was issued two months ago the municipal officials were dilly dallying in implementing the government orders to pay the enhanced wages to the workers as per their category. The Municipal Commissioner in response to workers’ appeals assured to pay enhanced wages along with arrears as it was done in Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation, from January onwards, but in vain, alleged IFTU and CITU leaders G Ramaiah and T Vishnuvardhan.

Similarly the wages of around 80 sanitation workers and drivers working on contract basis were pending for the past five months, they said and demanded the officials to clear pending wages immediately.
