Murder attempt victim dies, tension erupts in Kothagudem’s Burgampadu
Kothagudem: The death of a man on Saturday, a week after surviving a murder attempt by an acquaintance, sparked tension at Jinkalagudem in Burgampadu mandal of the district.

Kothagudem: A man injured in a murder attempt at Jinkalagudem, Burgampadu mandal, died while undergoing treatment, sparking protests and tension in the village.
According to police, the deceased Shaik Moulana (42) had an enmity with a resident of the village Shaik Ismail over an illicit affair with a woman. Ismail was said to have hit Moulana with a four-wheeler on August 23 at the village to eliminate him and he suffered serious injuries.
The injured man died undergoing treatment at a hospital in Khammam. Upon learning of his death, an enraged group of people attempted to set fire to the accused Ismail’s house. They staged a protest with the body of the deceased at the house.
Paloncha DSP Sathish Kumar along with a large number of police arrived at the village and brought the situation under control. After police assured Moulana’s family that the accused would be punished as per the law, his family members proceeded with his final rites.
It was also said that Ismail, who was engaged in cattle business, was angry with Moulana as the latter used to tip off the police and concerned officials about his alleged illegal cattle trading. It was also a reason behind the enmity between them.
