Musi project: Several BRS leaders arrested ahead of CM Revanth’s padayatra

Hyderabad: Ahead of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s padayatra as part of the Musi River rejuvenation project, several  leaders from BRS were placed under house arrest or arrested.

Former BRS MLA from Munugode, Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy, was placed under house arrest at his residence in Hyderabad. This action was taken to prevent any disruptions during the Chief Minister’s padayatra.

In Chityala Mandal, police arrested former Nakrekal MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah at Peddakaparthi. He had threatened to stage protests during the CM’s programme. He engaged in a heated argument with the police during his arrest, questioning the democratic nature of the action.

In Nalgonda, former MLA Kancharla Bhupal Reddy was placed under house arrest at his residence in Veeti Colony, with a heavy police presence deployed in the area. Similarly, in Ketepalli Mandal, police preemptively arrested former BRS party representatives and leaders, bringing them to the police station.

In Yadadri Bhongir district, ahead of CM Revanth Reddy’s visit to the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, leaders of the Lambadi Rights Struggle Committee were arrested for questioning the non-fulfillment of poll promises made by the Congress party.

The promises included issuing land titles to tribal farmers, constructing a temple and community hall for the Banjara community, and providing a ministerial position to a Lambadi representative. The leaders, including Yadadri Bhongir district secretary Muddavat Ashok Naik, Aleru Mandal president Maloth Vinod Naik, and tribal student union president Kethavath Sriram Naik, were detained by the police.
