Several BRS leaders and members of voluntary organisations were placed under house arrest or taken into preventive custody in Suryapet ahead of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s visit to Nagarjunasagar. BRS members protested the arrests and raised slogans against the government.
BRS leaders, including former ministers and MLAs, were detained by police in Chevella and surrounding areas while attempting to meet families of six murder victims in Shabad. Heavy security was deployed as tensions rose between party workers and police during the protests demanding justice.
