Nirmal: Muslims demanded Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju to tender an apology for allegedly abusing Muslims during a general body meeting of Khanapur municipality held on Tuesday.
Vedma Bojju allegedly stalled work on the installation of a statue of former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in Khanapur town even after the municipality gave its nod. He then reportedly abused Muslims when they met him seeking his permission to resume the work during the meeting. He used objectionable language against representatives of various Muslim associations.
The Muslim associations alleged that Bojju had insulted them by abusing them. They wanted an unconditional apology from the legislator. They requested other Muslim communities to condemn the act of the Khanapur MLA. They said that Bojju nursed a grudge against them and stalled the work on the statue.
Meanwhile, a video clip in which Bojju was seen expressing anger against leaders of Muslim communities is going viral on social media platforms. The clip was widely shared on WhatsApp and Facebook.
