Hyderabad: Alleging inordinate delay and apathetic attitude of the Centre and NABARD management in resolving their issues, the all-India NABARD Retired Employees Welfare Association, with more than 3,500 members, staged a protest at the NABARD headquarters and regional centres across the country.
The association, comprising senior and super senior retired employees, along with octogenarian family pensioners, demanded revision of pension for NABARD recruits who retired up to November 1, 2017. It wanted revision of family pension as approved by the Central government and removal of upper ceiling on family pension.
In addition, the retired employees wanted the government to grant full pension after 20 years of service and fixation of pension on the basis of the last pay drawn or average of 10 months of pay, whichever is beneficial.
The association has decided to stage another protest at NABARD headquarters and regional offices on January 5, 2026. “If the issues are not resolved, the agitation programme will be escalated, which may include dharna before Parliament and hunger strike by septuagenarian and octogenarian retirees of NABARD,” it added.
