Nalgonda: Telangana State Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy on Sunday said teaching is a respected profession that imparts knowledge to students and moulds their future.
Participating in a programme organised by Progressive Recognised Teachers’ Union (PRTU) on the occasion of retirement of Headmaster and union leader Basi Reddy Ravinder Reddy here, Sukender Reddy said that teachers had special respect in society. The teachers who work with dedication would definitely get recognition for their services. Not only teachers, any government employee would enjoy special respect in society, if they discharge their duties with dedication and commitment, he maintained. The dedication shown by Ravinder Reddy towards his job was model for others to follow, he said.
Zilla Parishad Chairman Banda Narender Reddy said that Ravinder Reddy had extended services to the teachers’ union in addition to doing justice to his job. He asked Ravinder Reddy to extend his services to the education sector and students even after his retirement. Zilla Parishad has been releasing funds for the Government Provident Fund and taking up compassionate appointments in schools run by it.
MLC Katepally Janardhan Reddy reminded that PRTU had the highest number of teachers in Nalgonda district. PRTU has been fighting for solution to teachers’ issues. He exuded confidence that pending issues would also be solved by the organisation.
Nalgonda MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy, Nalgonda Municipal Chairman M Saidi Reddy, former teachers MLC Pula Ravinder, PRTU State president Pingali Sripal Reddy and others attended the programme.
