Nalgonda: People in Chennaram village of Nalgonda mandal are caught in the grips of an acute drinking water scarcity. Tap water supply in the village has been affected for over a month with the local source of the Mission Bhagiratha supply turning defunct.
Women have been left without drinking water source for several weeks now. Frustrated and desperate, they staged a protest hitting the road with empty pots, raising slogans against the government on Sunday.
They lamented that neither officials nor public representatives have addressed their plight. The women demanded immediate action from the government to resolve the issue.
Their protest caused a massive traffic jam on the Nalgonda-Kanagal road, highlighting the severity of the water crisis in the region.
The women in Chennaram village are demanding water supply to be restored from the Mission Bhagiratha project.
