Narayanpet: The World Heritage Week celebrations, which were organized on a grand note at the ancient Menhirs site at Mudumal in Narayanpet district, concluded on Friday. The celebrations were organized by Jai Makthal Trust in association with Archaeological department as part of the World Heritage Week celebrations from November 19 to 25.
During the celebrations, every day different cultural and awareness programmes were organized at the venue. All the details of the programmes organized as part of the Heritage Week celebrartions would be sent to UNESCO, said Jai Makthal Trust president Sundeep Kumar Makthala in a press note.
Mudumal ancient site was used as an astronomical observatory in ancient times. The site also depicts history and ancient cultures. Artists from across the Makthal constituency performed different shows and programmes during in the celebrations. Karthika Achary’s team from Narwa, Venkatesham and Sumanth from Yanki village performed different shows. Later, school children participated in Bathukamma celebrations at the site.
