Narsingi police nab suspect in Alkapur molestation case
A 26-year-old man was arrested by Narsingi police for allegedly molesting a woman at Alkapur Township, Hyderabad, on May 14. The accused, identified as V. Nagaraju of Puppalaguda, was traced through CCTV footage.
Hyderabad: The Narsingi police on Saturday arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly molesting a woman on the road at Alkapur Township earlier this month.
Police said the incident occurred on May 14 when the woman was returning home with her toddler during the early hours.
The suspect, identified as V Nagaraju of Puppalguda, allegedly followed her and behaved indecently before fleeing when she raised an alarm. Following a complaint, police registered a case under Sections 78 and 79 of the BNS.
After CCTV footage of the incident surfaced on social media, special teams traced and nabbed Nagaraju. Police said the accused had no prior criminal record.
