National Milk Day observed in Adilabad
Farmers and employees of Telangana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Limited (TGDDCFL) observed the National Milk Day by paying tributes to Varghese Kurien at Borigama village in Neradigonda mandal on Tuesday.
Adilabad: Farmers and employees of Telangana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Limited (TGDDCFL) observed the National Milk Day by paying tributes to Varghese Kurien at Borigama village in Echoda mandal on Tuesday.
District Dairy Deputy Director Madhusudan Rao who was the chief guest of the event, said that Kurien, a visionary and father of white revolution, played an instrumental role in the phenomenal growth of the dairy sector in India and making the country self-reliant in this sector by forming cooperative societies.
He stated that steps were being taken to improve procurement of milk in the district. He handed over prizes to winners of a painting competition organized to mark the occasion. He felicitated the best dairy farmers on the occasion. He said that a milk procurement centre would be set up in the village spending Rs 3 lakh soon.
