Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Costao’ to stream on this OTT platform
Costao marks Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s return to biopics and is expected to deliver a powerful story of honesty and grit.
Hyderabad: Costao, a gripping biopic based on the life of late customs officer Costao Fernandes, will premiere exclusively on Zee5. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the fearless officer who took on Goa’s gold smuggling network in the 1990s.
The first look was unveiled on April 11, 2025, with Zee5 sharing the poster and teaser clips that hint at the intense drama and emotional depth of the story. One slide read, “Bravery comes at a cost,” showing the character after an accident, while another said, “Courage comes at a cost.”

Directed by Sejal Shah and produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Costao also features Priya Bapat, Hussain Dalal, and Kishore Kumar. The film portrays Fernandes’ daring solo mission that successfully disrupted a major smuggling operation.
Describing the character, Zee5 stated, “A hero with no cape – just a white uniform, unshakable courage, and the will to stand for what is right.”
