Naxals injured in encounter in Chhattisgarh

Three to four naxals were said to have been injured in an encounter between the security forces and Maoists in Mandagiri forests of Dhamtari district in Chhattisgarh

Kothagudem: Three to four naxals were said to have been injured in an encounter between the security forces and Maoists in Mandagiri forests of Dhamtari district in Chhattisgarh.

Dhamtari Superintendent of Police Anjaney Varshney told the media that the encounter took place when the district police and district reserve guard (DRG) personnel reached the spot after receiving information about the presence of Maoists in the forests of Mandagiri.

Maoists opened fire after spotting the security personnel, who retorted. Firing took place from both sides for around half an hour, further details awaited, the SP said. The incident took place under Khallari police station limits.
