Actor Vasishta Simha wondered if there could be a person as ruthless and cruel as gangster Nayeem. The actor plays the on-screen role of the slain gangster in the upcoming movie titled ‘Nayeem Diaries’.
“Real-life renegade Nayeem was impulsive. He was unmindful of the consequences he had to face for his actions. How he became one of the most-wanted gangsters and how he influenced the system are quite interestingly narrated in the film. His lifestory evokes both fear and sorrow,” says the actor, who had earlier played key roles in the films like ‘KGF’ and ‘Narappa’.
Simha says it was a challenge for him to play the lead role of Nayeem in the film. “The story is a blend of crime, suspense, thrill and, of course, has other elements too. The emotional part of the film is something the audience are going to really love. I heard about Nayeem through news and other documentaries on YouTube. He is described as anti-social. The film doesn’t obliterate the impression that people have on him. The film is a reflection of reality,” Simha adds.
Starting out as a singer with the encouragement from Kannada music director Hamsalekha, Simha worked in various departments as a technical crew before trying his luck as an actor. “The interest for films came when I was in college. Theatre and stage plays helped me find my passion. Later, when I worked in photography and editing departments, they gave me good insights into the film industry,” says the actor.
