Nirmal: The National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) teams rescued a woman, her newborn child and a youngster who were trapped at GNR Colony in Siddapur which was inundated by floods in Nirmal on Thursday.
The NDRF teams also rescued 19 persons trapped in floodwaters in Autonagar and NTR Nagar which were inundated in Bhainsa town. Around 300 persons are learnt to have been stranded in different parts of Nirmal town which has been witnessing torrential downpours. They were, however, rescued by locals. Eight houses were completely submerged at GNR Colony, surrounded by a stream that was flooded by the rainwater. Three elderly persons were rescued by policemen in Shashtrinagar.
Meanwhile, three persons, who were stranded in a flooded stream near Vanjar village in Sarangapur mandal, were rescued by NDRF teams.
