Siddipet: A NEET aspirant and her mother cried inconsolably as the aspirant was denied entry into the examination centre at Government Degree College in Siddipet on Sunday.

At least two students turned up late at the examination centre. Despite repeated appeals to officials by the aspirant and her mother, the officials denied entry saying there were strict guidelines in place.

Of 883 students allotted to two examination centres in Siddipet, 26 skipped the examination.

Collector M Manu Chowdary, Additional Collector Garima Agarwal and others ensured that the examination was conducted peacefully.

Of the 487 allotted to two examination centres in Medak town, 17 aspirants skipped the examination for various reasons.

In Sangareddy town, 98 aspirants out of 3,320 allotted in seven examination centres in the district skipped the examination.

Otherwise, the examination went off peacefully across the erstwhile Medak district, where NEET was conducted for the first time.
