Hyderabad: A day after the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-UG-2025 was held on Sunday, medical aspirants and subject experts termed that this year’s question paper ‘tougher than previous years’.

A majority of aspirants who had appeared for the NEET-UG-2025 complained that Physics was extremely difficult. Many even pointed out that the difficulty level of questions in Physics was on par with IIT Advanced examinations.

The overall toughness of NEET exam paper also triggered a flood of videos and reels across multiple social media platforms, where aspirants could be seen venting their ire on National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the exam.

A large number of experts and edu-influencers across multiple social media platforms claimed that this year’s NEET was tough. Based on assessment from experts, “the physics section featured high-standard questions, while chemistry was lengthy and included multiple correct-order questions, which ended up confusing a lot of students”.

Both botany and zoology sections were also lengthy, making time management difficult. With an overall tougher paper, scoring in NEET-UG-2025 will be challenging.

“What is the point of putting hard and high-level Physics questions for a UG examination? It is ironic that the Physics subject in NEET will decide who gets to become a doctor,” an angry aspirant said.

Many others pointed out that the NEET-UG-2025 paper was the toughest in the last two to three decades in the country. “Is it fair to make NEET Physics tougher than IIT-JEE, when it’s a medical examination and not an engineering one? Students deserve fairness,” another MBBS aspirant said.
